Someone once said that there are three types of people in this world. There are those that let things happen, those that watch things unfold, and then there is the small minority that make things happen. Which category do you fall into? Chances that if you are currently challenged by your results so far, you probably fall into the first two.
Resourcefulness, Not Resources
People use just about any self-limiting excuse to remain in their current situation. I mean I’ve heard them all. Lack of education, lack of money, no time, lack of, lack…you know them, you’ve used them. We all have at one time or another.
So take one of these excuses and ask yourself, ‘is there someone I know who has had to face greater setbacks than those I put forward, and has succeeded anyway?’ Look, your answer is yes. So guess what, your excuses, well they’re just yours. No one really cares.
Your Goals For Me
The beginning of all great journeys begins with a predetermined direction. If you are not wrapped with any part of your life, then set a new course. If not now, when will you did it in, fifty years? Take some time, really think about this now. Many of us think that our families, friends, business associates, governments at all levels, have it all worked out for us. Ask them, ‘what goals have you got in mind for me?” Ooops.
Block Out Useless Distractions
Here’s what I want you to do. Don’t go where the majority goes. Don’t do what the majority does. Don’t read what they read. Don’t talk how they talk. Don’t do what they do. Its all about the road less traveled. To have a significant positive impact with your limited time on this planet, learn to limit your exposure to the negative voices and influences that abound.
Momentum That Goes Unseen
Success is the net sum of small disciplines. Henry Longfellow said it well.’the heights by great men reached and kept, were not obtained by sudden flight. But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.’ Slowly but surely you build momentum that accelerates you to your desired objective. Under the radar.
Remember – Nobody Is Better Than You
A had a catch up with an old friend last week. For many years John successfully represented some of the largest private investment firms in his capacity as regional sales manager here in Australia. He has gone out on his own, in this highly competitive, highly lucrative endeavor. He asked for my humble views on this new business venture. My response was simple. ‘John, at the end of the day, nobody is better than you. Just do what you know you can do without any doubts.’ John agreed. He’s there already.
